| Fire Department
The Benbrook Fire Department, which consists of 16 full-time staff, 21 Auxiliary City Fire Support Unit personnel and 5 Volunteers, is charged with preserving and protecting lives and property from fire and/or other disasters. Under direction of the Fire Chief, the Assistant Chief, Fire Captains, Fire Lieutenant's and Firefighter/EMT's and Paramedics perform the following duties: fight fires, perform rescue operations, control hazardous material spills and leaks, promote fire prevention, conduct annual fire inspections of Benbrook businesses, and enforce City fire codes.
In addition, the Fire Department furnishes ambulance service, providing emergency medical treatment and transportation of the sick and injured within the City of Benbrook. Personnel also teach First Aid and CPR classes for the community and Fire Department personnel, as well as conduct special courses to train residents in life-saving techniques.
NOTICE: As of 6/04/2007, The Benbrook Fire Department is accepting applications for the Auxiliary City Fire Support Unit (ACSFU). This is a part-time firefighting position, requiring 168 on-call hours per month. Minimum requirements: 18yo/certified EMT/sucessfully pass written/agility test.
